Edward F. Sadowski, of New Windsor, entered into rest on Thursday, December 23, 2021. He was 79.
Son of the late Ed and Margie (Straub) Sadowski, he was born on August 6, 1942 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Ed was a Systems Analysis Manager with IBM, working at numerous sites throughout his 25 year career and retiring from East Fishkill in 1990. A lifelong area resident, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a past president of the Hamptonburgh Rod and Gun Club, a member of the Hamptonburgh Democratic Committee, a former member of the Campbell Hall Fire Department, and was a former Constable for the Town of Hamptonburgh. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and belonged to many bowling leagues as well as the Osiris Country Club. He enjoyed playing the accordion (but he might have been the only one who enjoyed it). Most of all, Ed loved his years sitting by the pool “lifeguarding” for his ever growing family.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Sadowski; four daughters, Christine Sadowski (Chris Love) of Cornwall, Jill Costello (Kevin) of Rosendale, Deanne Skivington of Rock Tavern and Jayme Weis (Donald) of New Windsor; two sisters, Lorie Buckley (Joe) of Hyde Park and Donna Moran (Ray) of Poughkeepsie; a sister-in-law, Barbara Contarino (Al) of Covina, CA; and former wife, Kathryn Cowles Boyle. He was a beloved Pop to fifteen grandchildren, Carbi, Joey (Brooke), Loren, J.P., Christopher, Kathryn, Connor, Tyler, Ryan, Stephanie (Michael), Dalton, Kyle, Chloe, Paige and Lylah, and three great grandchildren, Kevin, Blake and Rae; and several nieces and nephews.
Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
There will be a private Celebration of Life held on his mother’s birthday.
