On Friday March 18 at 6:35pm City of Newburgh Police were notified of a male looking in parked vehicles that were in the area of Water Street near some local eateries.
Officers quickly located the male and found him to be in possession of a credit card that was not in his name. Officers along with dispatchers located the owner of the credit card who stated it was last seen in his vehicle which was parked in a lot on Front Street.
The victim also identified more of their property in the possession of the male, who was identified as Ricardo Torres, a 46-year-old man from Newburgh. Torres was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree.
Torres was booked and held pending his arraignment.
