Cornwall Public Library announces upcoming events

The Cornwall Public Library is pleased to announce its upcoming events for the week of May 21-27. The library has a variety of events for people of all ages to enjoy, including book groups, creative writing groups, and more.

On Monday, May 22, the Creative Writers Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. This is an adult group where new members are always welcome. Those interested in attending can register via the library’s online calendar. A virtual option can also be made available by calling (845) 534-8282.

Also on Monday, May 22 the library will host Dog Tales for grades K-12 at 6 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to read independently to a furry friend from Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause. Those interested in participating can register via the library’s online calendar for a 15-minute time slot of their choice – 6, 6:15, 6:30 or 6:45 p.m. Registration is required and opens one week prior to the program.

On Wednesday, May 24, the Out & About Book Group will meet at 7 p.m. at Leo’s Restaurant & Pizzeria. The book pick for May is The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. Digital eBooks and eAudiobooks are available on the Libby app; hard copies are available to pick up at the library. Those interested in attending are encouraged to pre-register via the library’s online calendar to help coordinate with the restaurant.

Also on Thursday, May 25, the Readzza Readzza Book Group will meet at 4:30 p.m. The book pick for this group is Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. This group is for grades 5-8 and registration can be done in person when picking up a copy of the book at the library.

Finally, on Thursday, May 25, the library will host Book Chat & Chocolate at 7 p.m. The book pick for this group is The Mothers by Brit Bennett. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the book and enjoy chocolate. Digital eBooks and eAudiobooks are available on the Libby app; hard copies are available to pick up at the library.
