Colombian restaurant to open on North Plank Road

Noches de Colombia, the growing and popular tri-state colombian food chain, is coming to Newburgh on North Plank Road. It is scheduled to open its doors between mid to late November as they finish up training their employees and prepping for the big day.

This new restaurant will appease both “the Colombian and non-Colombian alike” with its “aromas of slow-cooked meats seasoned to perfection.”

Customers will soon be able to enjoy steak and seafood dishes that are reminiscent of mom’s homemade Colombian food.

Construction began at this location a year and a half ago and the building is large enough to sit around 200 customers at a time.

The chain was originally established by a family who migrated to the United States back in 1997. They opened their first restaurant in New Jersey and expanded from there, with a total of 25 restaurants today.

“Noches de Colombia restaurant is the ideal hang-out spot for the local community offering the perfect combination of music, conversation and of course the flat-screen entertainment for the quintessential soccer fans around the world,” their website reads.

Guests will be able to sit at their bartop to order a drink, or grab a booth with the family. Opening during the pandemic, they are being extra cautious with enhanced cleaning protocols and following the state’s mandates.

They are also going to offer delivery and special pick up services to encourage people to stay home and order in.

Some favorites of the 100 percent authentic Colombian culinary prepared meals include arroz con pollo, mar y chicken, asadito, new York grilled steak, churrasco, frijolada, carne asada, bandeja paisa and more. When they open their doors, try one of their weekly specials of lomo a la plancha, filete, pechuga a la colombiana or paella noches.

However, they also offer Colombian coffee, “a hallmark symbol of Colombian culture.” Their own line of coffee is carefully curated, starting with the coffee bean growing in Andean town of Apia “in the famous Colombian coffee growing triangle.”

Colombia has a long history of growing coffee and is the leading producer of high-quality Arabica coffee beans and Noches de Colombia bring the special roast right to their customers.

The new location will also offer a full catering menu.

“We’re really happy to come into town,” said Juan Rodriguez, one of the owners. “We hope to be a good addition to Newburgh.”

Once they open, customers can stop by seven days a week for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. The lounge is open Friday and Saturday with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m.
