Burton resigns from school board

Newburgh District Clerk Mona Novotny presented to the Newburgh Board of Education the resignation of Ramona Burton. The letter was effective on February 27. Burton’s term as a board member was set to expire June 30, 2024.

Board of Education President Carole Mineo thanked Burton for her service to the district. “I’d like to say thank you for your service, Ms. Burton,” said Mineo. “Her service to our children and our school district really has to be noted.”

With Burton’s resignation, this adds a new open seat with Mineo, William Walker and Mark Levinstein all up for re-election this coming summer in the district.
