Barbara Jean Arteta of Plattekill, NY, a retired Office Manager for the Wallkill Central School District, entered into rest on August 31, 2021, surrounded by family at home.
The daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Intermesoli, Barbara was born on December 27, 1943, in Newburgh, NY.
On November 9, 1963, Barbara married Roy Arteta in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, NY. They moved to Plattekill where she spent the rest of her life.
Barbara was pre-deceased one year to the day by her eldest son, Roy.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Roy, at home; her children: Paul and wife Lacey and children Michael, Chelsea, and Alexandra, of Montgomery; Keith and wife Nicole and children, Kylie, Matthew, and Gianna, of Wallkill; Brett and wife Michelle and children Mark, Emily, Mikaela, and Juliana, of Modena; sister Dolores Marquis of Marlboro; brother Louis and Elaine Intermesoli of Newburgh; her dear cousin Angelina Monaco of Newburgh; her Uncle Frank and Aunt Frances Monaco of Newburgh; brother-in-law Eugene Arteta and wife Trudy of Florida; sister-in-law Irene Arteta of Plattekill; her Aunt Eve Costa of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
A memorial mass will be offered on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1250 Rte. 32, Plattekill. Father Omachi will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at jdrf.org.
