TOWN OF WALLKILL PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, the 20th day of November 2024, at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, there will be a Public Hearing conducted by the Planning Board of the Town of Wallkill at the Town Hall at 99 Tower Dr, Building A, Middletown, NY on the application of SAPA Hospitality, LLC for extension of a special use permit and site plan approval for construction and operation of a hotel facility on the real property known as Lot 9 of the Crystal Run Crossing subdivision and identified on the Town’s Tax Maps as SBL 78-1-80.622. The Planning Board originally issued a Negative Declaration for this project on January 8, 2020, and granted on that date a special use permit and site plan approval to construct and operate a hotel on the site. The Planning Board granted annual extensions of the special use permit and site plan approval, with the last extension being granted on July 12, 2023. The Applicant has requested another one-year extension of the special use permit and site plan approval, and the Planning Board is holding this public hearing to assist it in connection with determining if another extension is warranted. Among the factors relevant to making this determination are: (a) if the project, as approved, continues to conform to the provisions of the Town Code, (b) if there has been a material change in circumstances since the approvals were issued such that a significant adverse environmental impact may result if the project is built as originally approved, and (c) if the applicant will sustain a hardship if the extension is not granted. All parties of interest will be heard at such time and place. The public hearing will be held in person only. Members of the public may attend the meeting in person to offer comment during the public hearing.
