Veterans Repertory Theater (VetRep) is set to debut “Potshots...And Other Feelings,” a collection of seven 10-minute plays written by veteran playwrights, in an intimate setting at its venue, the Parlor in Cornwall, beginning Nov. 9.
Each play in this series, written by veterans from diverse backgrounds, explores themes of resilience, humor, and the complexities of military life. Featured works include “Potshots” by Stephanie Kline, known for her dark humor, and “The Elephant Delivery” by Bill Smith, which brings a surreal touch to the stage. Other plays include “Fish Tale” by Phil Wozniak, “Given: A Way” by Michael Towers, “Intermission Play” by Dakota Silvey, “It’s Not Blood” by Kim Ruyle, and “Sunset & Vine” by Jack Truman.
Located at 16 Quaker Ave. in a Victorian-era house, the Parlor offers an 18-seat experience, with each seat close to the action. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy mocktails and desserts in the welcoming, community-oriented setting.
“Potshots...And Other Feelings” runs Saturdays at 7 p.m. through Dec. 14. Tickets are limited due to the intimate setting, and VetRep uses a pay-what-you-think-we-are-worth model. More details and reservation options are available at vetrep.org.
Founded in February 2021, as a tax-exempt, non-profit 501c3 organization, Veterans Repertory Theater aims to reinvigorate American theater through developing and producing the work of veteran writers and artists. Through fully produced plays, staged readings, immersive art shows and multimedia festivals, VetRep delivers to audiences intimate, impactful live performances as whimsical, hilarious, absurdist, and jarring as the veteran community that created them.
