Town of Highlands Police Department and Ambulance Corps, and Fort Montgomery Fire Department officials have recently reported their statistics for the month of September. They include:

Fort Montgomery Fire Department: The FMFD responded to 18 calls, and members trained together for over 30 hours. The calls included one motor vehicle accident with extrication, three motor vehicle accidents with injuries, five motor vehicle accidents with no injuries; four mutual aid calls, one hazmat call, three automatic alarms, and one boat rescue.

Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps: The THAC responded to 43 calls in September and were able to get to 41 of them (the others were handled by out-of-town units). One was a ‘second call’ and there was no crew, and the for the other there was no driver for the ambulance, Town Councilwoman Nancy Sporbert said at last week’s Town Board meeting. “They could use your help if you are interested in volunteering,” she said.

Town of Highlands Police Department: Chief Joseph Burns told the Town Board last week that his officers responded to 768 calls in September, with 448 of those as directed patrols. The THPD handled 10 cases, made two arrests, responded to 14 motor vehicle accidents, and, at 137 traffic stops, wrote 57 tickets.
