At the next session of “Sit’n Chat” on Wednesday, October 2, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 134 Old State Rd., Highland Falls, local history lovers will explore how an extended family in the Town of Highlands area has contributed to the community “in so many and diverse ways”, organizer Agnes Saffoury says.
When did this dynasty begin in our town, and where did the first immigrants come from and why?
"Please join with us in an interactive discussion about businesses, families, and who did what at the beginning of their time in the Hudson Highlands,” Saffoury said, inviting all interested to the one-hour session. “We will learn how their roles took on new meanings over time and what they are doing today. Be ready to have your memory jogged as you learn more about your classmates, friends, neighbors and even your own family members through marriage. There are bound to be “aha” moments as tales are told.”
She called it “stress-free fun” on a Wednesday evening!
