Regarding water in Highland Falls

Posted

Highland Falls Mayor Joe D’Onofrio reported on several water-related matters.
“All operations last week were normal,” he said, adding that the current water level in the Bog Meadow Dam, which provides the municipal water for both Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery, is 80 percent. “That’s good,” he said.

He added that the village’s ancillary water sources, Lower Bog Meadow and Jim’s Pond are both full and flowing, as is the small Rt. 9W reservoir.

The mayor also reported that a significant leak to the water service at O’Neill High School has been repaired.

Water Commissioner Peter Carroll announced this week that there will be a second ‘open house’ at the Highland Falls Water Plant on Saturday, April 5, for those who wish to learn more about the treatment of local municipal water. The times will be announced at a later date.
