One of the goals of recently-hired Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District Athletic Director Travis Powers is to start building O’Neill High School’s program from the ground up. Thus, last week he asked players from the varsity boys and girls basketball teams if they’d be interested in spending some time with third grade physical education students – ‘teaching’ them something they do well, play basketball. Powers was thrilled that eight students – Seamus Dodge, Sean Larkins, David Walsh, Jacob Larkins, CJ Conkey, Maddie August, Roni Arbogast and Grace O’Connell – took him up on the offer; O’Connell is shown here with a third grader working on jump shots. “I would love to do this with varsity players in all sports to make sure our younger Raiders are exposed to as many different sports as possible,” the AD said.
