Mearns Ave. work underway

On the morning of January 13, Highland Falls Mayor Joe D’Onofrio did a pre-construction walk through of the about-to-start $479,000 Mearns Ave. storm drainage project with a half-dozen or so residents, the village engineer, and representatives of ConTech Construction, which will do the work.

The work was scheduled to begin last week, weather permitting, the mayor said. He thanked the residents for their patience on the project, saying “they’ve had to put up with poor conditions on their road for a very long time”. He told them, and the construction company, that they would be kept up-to-date on the work, including periods where the single lane road will have to be closed during the project. The work is from Berry Hill south to the town’s highway garage.
The project is being paid for with a combination of state, federal and FEMA funds.

With questions, contact the mayor at 845-446-3400.
