ames M. Pungello, of Maybrook, entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2024 at his home. He was 72 years old.
The son of the late Carmine Pungello and Margaret (Wynne) Pungello, James was born on August 27, 1952 in the Bronx, NY.
James was a retired Postal Service Worker at the United States Post Office in West Point, NY. He was a devout member of the Catholic Church.
A family statement reads: “He was a hardworking man who was devoted to his family and his faith. He loved animals and nature deeply.” He will be missed greatly.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife: Stella E. (Gagliardi) Pungello. He is survived by his daughters: Lynette M. (Pungello) Scherer of Newburgh, NY and Jacy M. Pungello of New Windsor, NY; his grandchildren: Sasha, Jasmine, and Decklin; and by his sisters: Maryanne (Pungello) Ranallo and Linda (Pungello) DeSetto. James was also predeceased by his brothers: Joseph Pungello and Louis Stalder.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Reflections will follow the Visitation at 1:45 p.m.
