Happy Hanakkah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year from my family to yours!  Even though we are all not celebrating the holidays like we have in the past years, enjoy your family time!!
Please remember that this column runs the third Wednesday each month. I need your news for one month by the second Wednesday of each month.

The Wallkill East Rotary Club would like to thank all in the community who collaborated with the club in the recent Rotary District 7210 coat drive.
The Town of Wallkill allowed the Wallkill East Rotary Club to use the Community Center on Wes Warren Drive for both a coat drop-off in October and a coat giveaway on Thanksgiving weekend November 28 & 29.
On the weekend of the giveaway the Town of Wallkill police department supplied the Rotary with a Police officer on each day. On Saturday officer Ganesh Bhagwandeen helped with the distribution of coats, and on Sunday officer Warren Ponds was there to help.

In total the Wallkill East Rotary club collected over 600 new and gently used coats. Besides the coat drop off in October the following local community partners set up collection boxes at their offices - Orange Bank & Trust, Garnet Health, Alan Turken Allstate, Frank’s Custom Shoes, Rowley Development Corp, and Tri-County Community Partnership.
With a helpful hand the following organizations were part of the distribution process: Town of Wallkill Police Community Council, Town of Wallkill Youth Coalition, High School youth from the Rotary Interact club and the Tri-County Youth Partnership
Special thanks to Art’s Drive-In Cleaners for donating dry cleaning services as needed.
