Kudos to Walden Rotary Club members, Scouts, the Fox Hill Community and all who supported fundraising for the Salvation Army in front of the Thruway Sporting Center in Walden and Shop Rite in Montgomery. A check for $6,500 was presented to Major Johnson Germain of the Salvation Army on December 30, 2019. All who participated truly live up to Rotary’s Motto “Service Above Self”.

Commander David Penney of VFW Post 2946 sends a thank you to the many friends and surrounding Community of the Walden Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2946.
He also relates as many of you know, a few weeks ago, the VFW sustained not only a crime against the Veteran community, but also our community as a whole. There was structural damage done to the building, and money stolen from our organizations’ Cancer fundraiser.
Our local veterans and friends rallied on so many levels through repairing, donating and fundraising. “Even in the most difficult and darkest of times, there is light and goodness all around us.” These words and sentiments echo daily and have proven to be so incredibly accurate. The members and officers of Walden VFW Post 2946 would like to express their sincere gratitude, and “I, Commander David Penny am overwhelmed by the unbelievable outpouring of support and am incredibly grateful.”
