The achievements of VCHS Coach Scott Warner have been recognized by the National Federation of High School Sports (NFHS) as he has been named NFHS Girls Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year.
Warner has been coaching the team since 1993. He has also been coaching Boys’ Swim and Diving since he was hired by Valley Central in November of 1992. Coach Warner is a three season coach as he also coaches Girls’ Golf.
The 2020-2021 Girls’ Swim season which is usually in the fall has been moved to March 2021 by Section 9 due to the pandemic. Interscholastic athletics in Section 9 will begin with the Winter Season to be followed by the Fall and Spring seasons as decided today.
Warner’s award was announced September 10, at the Section 9 meeting Coach Warner also serves as the Chairman for Section 9 Swim.
