Phillip John Andrew Callahan of Montgomery, a longtime resident of the area, passed away suddenly Monday, February 15, 2021, in Montgomery.  He was 59. 

The son of Andrew and Joy Marie Lesage Callahan, he was born December 1,1961, in Spangler, PA.

Phillip was a truck driver for Metroplex, in Harriman, NY. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Washingtonville. Family always came first to Phil. He loved to make people laugh and could lighten any mood. He enjoyed boating and hunting and really was a jack of all trades. There was never a time you couldn’t depend on him, he was there for so many people and would do anything to help others. 

Survivors include his wife Janet at home; sons Eric Johnston & Jamie of Montgomery and Brendan Johnston of Montgomery; daughter Ashlee Callahan and Bradley Vellenga of Montgomery; grandchildren Hayden and Rowen Johnston; sister  Michele Callahan and Paul Antonucci of Cornwall; brother Andrew Callahan and wife Debbie of Cornwall; sister  Della Melrose and husband Gary of Cornwall; nieces and nephews Patrick, Matthew and Kate Callahan, Morgan Lee Georges , Megan Melrose-Lucia and good Friends Phil Albert, Jimmy Lynch and Mike Sacco

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 3pm-7pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place privately.
