The Pine Bush Central School District announced a number of personnel changes at the Board of Education meeting last Tuesday night.

Highlighting this matter was the appointment to tenure for two teachers, Maggy Godinez-Garcia and Jennifer Laubach. Godinez-Garcia began her tenure area in Spanish on Nov. 28 and Laubuch will start in the elementary tenure area on Dec. 9. The Board of Education shook both of their hands while their families cheered in the audience.

“Getting tenure is a big deal,” said Tim Mains, superintendent of the Pine Bush Central School District.

In addition, several faculty members will see increased roles within the district. Michelle Robinson, Lillian Kurisko and Shaina Proietti will each teach an additional science course for the remainder of the school year. Patricia Perez will now work six hours a day in her position of school monitor while Maria Wise will earn a $15,000 salary increase as a senior secretary. Caitlin Ciano and Angela Kruger are going to supervise Winter and Spring sporting events. Laura Rios will take on a new role as substitute bilingual translator.

The board also amended some extracurricular appointments. Susan Sturm and Rebecca Torre will continue to serve as Honor Society co-advisors until Jan. 24. On Jan. 27, Michelle Robinson will take over duties as advisor for the Honor Society. Effective Dec. 2, Robinson will assist Patrick Reiser as the co-advisor of the robotics club.

The district will bid a brief adieu to Dorota Dziadosz. The school monitor will continue her unpaid leave of absence through Dec. 20.
