The Pine Bush Area Library is holding outside activities to get away from the screen for a while.

One program is “Search For The Fairies”. Located around the library grounds are hidden fairies reading a book. Children can come and see how many fairies they can find for a prize.

Then we have an exercise group that meets on Tuesdays at 10:30 for a walk around town for about 45 minutes. They are called the Fitnixs. All come back for lunch on the lawn and then a game of trivia, Simon Says etc. and of course socialize. All activities require a mask, sanitizing and practice social distancing.

On Mondays, Miss Lucy meets with the toddlers at 10 a.m. on the lawn for stories, finger plays and nursery rhymes. Each child goes home with a craft to make.

The “Take and Make” bags are going well. The staff is making up craft projects to go along with a book to keep. There are three levels: toddler, preschool and elementary. A free Stewart’s ice cream cone is offered to all who take a picture of their craft with the book and email it to PBL@RCLS.ORG.

We have temporary hours now which are Monday –Friday from 10 to 4 and on Saturdays 10 to2. All books being returned are put in the book drop outside. They are then quarantined for 3 days before being put back into circulation. We are following the CDC mandates of masks. Sanitizing, short stay on site, provide gloves for book browsing and practice social distancing. Several times during the day, all areas such as checkout counter, computers, door handles, copier, phones, pens, bathroom, etc. are wiped with sanitizer. We have installed Plexiglas at the counters. Online ordering, phone calls, walkins to reserve materials is available. We also have curbside pick up. Call 744-3375 press 1 and your books will be brought out to you.
