The TOMStrong Community Response Team Fund has received a $15,000 donation from Medline Industries, Inc. (Medline). The donation will support the team’s ongoing efforts to provide relief for residents and those employed in the Town of Montgomery who are facing challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and for nonprofit organizations serving those people impacted.

This donation comes on top of an initial $10,000 contribution which was made during the height of the pandemic, as well as a $50,000 contribution that was earmarked for the TOMStrong Business Relief Program. The Town of Montgomery has also received $150,000 from Medline Industries as part of the African American Cemetery Revitalization project and other significant historic projects within the town.

Medline, one of America’s largest manufacturers and distributors of medical supplies, is building a distribution center on the corner of Neelytown Road and State Route 416 in the Town of Montgomery. Company representatives have voiced a commitment to corporate citizenship and philanthropy.

Medline’s Director of Operations, Tom Fallon, presented the donation to Randi Greene, a representative of the TOMStrong Community Response Team and Town of Montgomery Supervisor, Brian Maher, during a check presentation ceremony at Montgomery Town Hall.

“As longtime members of Orange County, we are concerned about the well-being of our neighbors impacted by COVID-19,” said Fallon. “Medline is excited to continue our partnership with the TOMStrong Community Response Team to help get emergency food, medication, transportation and other critical services to those who need it.”

“We are grateful for the continued support from Medline which has made a huge difference in helping those in the Town of Montgomery hardest hit by the pandemic,” said Maher. “While rates of the virus have decreased, the financial and emotional impacts of this crisis continue to mount. This donation will prepare us and help to position our community response team to handle any emergency that is thrown our way.”

The TOMSTRONG Community Response Team Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. Donations can be made at fosny.org/our-funds/project-funds/tomstrong-community-response-team/.
