Thanksgiving/Holiday Events in and around Walker Valley/Pine Bush area.
Lauren Bernard, of the Pine Bush Community Band, says “Get your holiday cheer going with an hour of music by the Pine Bush Community Band. The group is a yearly tradition in the area and presents free to the public concerts throughout the season. Please check out pinebushcommunityband.com for more information”. November 25 at 7 p.m. St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Bullville . Admission is free.
December 8 at 2 p.m., Pine Bush Community Band Holiday Concert Crawford Senior & Community Center, Route 302, Pine Bush.
We hope the weather cooperates and The Community Band will be able to participate in this year’s Pine Bush Lions’ Club sponsored Christmas Tree Lighting w/Santa on Saturday December 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The Pine Bush Lions Club will be holding the community tree lighting in the Gazebo area of Crawford Commons behind 65 Main St. on Sat. Dec. 7th from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for pictures and to greet the children and their families.
This year’s tree is being donated by Beck’s Home & Garden Center and the gazebo and tree decorations are being done by Pete’s Pizza. Tree will be lit at 5:30 p.m.
Local groups will be there to provide refreshments and games for the children. So far, we have the Heppes family with their Popcorn House, the chamber with hot cider, girl scouts with hot chocolate, cookies from Lions Club members and much more.
Contact Santa Steve Decker if you are interested in participating for this event by calling 800-6623.

Pine Bush Lions Club Paint & Sip fundraiser to help donate Chemo Ducks to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital will be held on Saturday November 30 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Uptiquing, Main St. Pine Bush. Visit chemoducks.org for more info to see where your contributions go to and how they help children during chemo & other treatments.
If you can’t make the paint & sip on the 30th you can mail your $50 contribution to Pine Bush Lions Club, P.O. Box 1118, Pine Bush NY 12566.

Walker Valley Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary tree lighting will be held on Sunday December 8 at 7 p.m. at the firehouse 3679 State Route 52, Walker Valley. Caroling music will be provided by the Walker Valley Marching Band and refreshments will be served in the social hall.
Bring an ornament to hang on the community tree. We anticipate that the holiday prayer message will be delivered by Pastor Gregg Higgins of the Walker Valley Mountainview United Methodist Church.

Mountain View United Methodist Church News:
There will be a free Thanksgiving Dinner Saturday Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. in the UMC Memorial Hall, 2 Church St., Pine Bush. All are welcome to participate.
The UMC Women of Faith in Action are busy as ever. Member Tami Lutz, told me they have women crocheting blankets for the fusion centers. Most of the women do not belong to the women’s group, so they and everyone who finds comfort in getting a blanket are very grateful. If you like to crochet, the group will supply the yarn; call Kelly McCauley at 361-3519 to sign up.
On November, 13 members of the group will be motoring down to Lancaster PA to enjoy a weekend of fun & fellowship. First, they stop off at the MCC Material Resources Center where they drop off 100 school kits that the women’s group has put together. Visit the center on Facebook for more information behind what they do: MCC Material Resources Center, Ephrata. The rest of the time is spent on fun with some amazing women.
Other projects the Women of Faith in Action participate in include donating 16 complete turkey dinners to Project Life in Newburgh. If you are interested in joining the group, you don’t have to be a member of the church, Tami says they would love to have you! The group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Walker Valley Branch Church location downstairs – left front door.
And then there is their famous Cookie Walk on Saturday Dec. 14 that starts at 9 a.m. and the word is - get there early - so you don’t miss out on hundreds of homemade items available for purchase. Make your choices and pay per pound. This event is held in the Memorial Hall, 2 Church St. Pine Bush.

Start collecting up your craft supply items again that you no longer need/want and call Kelli Palinkas Greer at 744-3055 or email her at kellipalinkas@yahoo.com to repurpose those items for you. She is a friend of the Walker Valley Community Enhancement Committee and will be holding another sale of craft items sometime in January 2020 in the schoolhouse community center.
Proceeds from these sales will benefit the committee and their many projects throughout the hamlet.

There will be a Creative Workshop presented by local multi-media artist Meadow at the Pine Bush Area Library Community Center on Thursday November 21 at 3:30 p.m. Kids ages 7 and up will make a one-of-a-kind birdfeeder made from plastic soda bottles. You must be registered to attend by calling 744-4265 ext. 2.
Event is sponsored by the Pine Bush Area Arts Council with funding by a grant from Stewarts Shops Holiday Match Program.
