Foresight and concern for safety

In March of 2020 Joe Biden became concerned about the acrimonious nature of the election campaigns so he petitioned to expand Secret Service protection to the four leaders of Congress.

At the beginning of the riot inside the Capitol building on 1/6/20 Mr. McConnell, Mr. Schumer, Ms. Pelosi and Mr. McCarthy were escorted to a safe area by their Secret Service protection, even though the Capitol Police were briefly overwhelmed and there was a danger of the rioters getting at members of Congress.

As awful as the attack on the Capitol was I’m sure it would have been even more horrific if a seventy eight year-old man and an eighty year-old woman were accosted by violent thugs. Ms. Pelosi’s office was vandalized, but due to the foresight of Joe Biden months before he was elected the nation’s 46th president, the Speaker of the House and the other leaders of Congress were safe from harm. I’m certain that a man who acted presidential months before he was elected to the office will be able to keep the government of the United States and its people safe.
