As a professional whose office is located In the now lovely Village of Montgomery, I’m writing to urge residents of that village to protect their community and their property values, by voting for Don Berger as Village Trustee on March 16.

Don is committed to keeping Montgomery from being exploited and turned in to a version of the Town of Wallkill, Route 211, with new giant warehouses and industrial projects being planned for Montgomery. These projects bring yet more wealth to the out of town super-wealthy, like Jeff Bezos of Amazon, giving them tax breaks with your taxes-- like they need it-- while bringing down your property values, increasing traffic (including trucks), and noise, light, air, water, and soil pollution.

As one Montgomery resident put it to me, “If I wanted to live in Queens, I would be living in Queens.” Seems to me that the devastation of Montgomery, with concomitant financial losses to homeowners, and harmful health impacts to residents and workers in Montgomery, is really the primary issue facing Montgomery. Don seems to be the only trustee candidate aware of this fact, and ready to do something about that. Further, Don is very people- and community-minded, and I have no doubt that he would work hard for the needs and well-being of residents, if they serve their own best interests by voting for Don Berger for Village Trustee on March 16.
