Daniel Joseph Kranes of Montgomery , went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Los Angeles, CA.  He was 26.

The son of David Brian Kranes and Jeannine LoBue Kranes, he was born November 9, 1994 in Port Jefferson, NY.

Danny was a loving, kind-hearted young man.  He was very gifted mechanically and could fix or build almost anything!  He especially loved welding and had hoped to go to welding school in the future.  He also had a gift for carpentry and built some beautiful pieces of  furniture.  In his spare time he loved going to the ocean, hiking and snowboarding in the mountains, riding his motorcycle, and kayaking down the river.  He was also a NY Islanders hockey fan and enjoyed taking in a game with family.  He loved his pets, Pongo, Peanut, and Nala, and children really adored him!  He was an avid “foodie” too!

Along with his parents, he is survived by his sister Julianna Kranes, brother  Nicholas Kranes and sister-in-law Katie Kranes; grandparents Joseph and Margaret LoBue, grandmother Rochelle Kitchen, Uncle Jim and Aunt Andrea Phelan and cousins, Sarah, Hannah, and Rebekah, Uncle Joey and Aunt Jeanine LoBue and cousins Joey, Delilah, and Jake, Uncle Anthony and Aunt Dianna LoBue and cousins Izabella, Annabelle, and Arianna, and Uncle Steven and Aunt Lisa Kranes and cousins Sarah and Sammy, as well as countless friends from New York to California and many places in between.

He was pre-deceased by his Great-Grandmother Marie Sclafani.

Visitation will be Sunday December 20,  2-4pm and 7-9pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY.

Funeral services will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to “Hope Not Handcuffs” PO Box 1277, Pine Bush, NY 12566.
