Hamilton College’s Kenny Gray ‘20 (Montgomery/Valley Central HS) was selected for the 2019 D3football.com All-Region Team on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Gray was voted to the East Region’s second team on defense as a punter. The all-region honor is his first. This is the 15th year D3football.com has named all-region teams.
Gray made the all-NESCAC first team on special teams last month. He was the Continentals’ starting quarterback all four years but was called on to punt in the fifth game this fall after two-time all-NESCAC first team punter Billy Wagner ‘20 was lost for the season with a broken leg the week before. Gray didn’t skip a beat and ended up leading the conference with an average of 39.3 yards per punt. His 65-yard boot at Middlebury College was the longest in the NESCAC this year, and he pinned 20 of his 36 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. He didn’t have any punts blocked and none of them resulted in fair catches or touchbacks.
In Hamilton’s 31-28 win over Amherst College on Oct. 19, Gray averaged 48.8 yards per punt and pinned three of five inside the Mammoths’ 20-yard line. He helped lead the Continentals to a 4-5 record. The four wins were the most for the program since 1996.

The College of Saint Rose freshman Mason Davis (Montgomery/Valley Central) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 8.

Davis placed fifth in the shot put at Saturday’s Emmanuel College Season Opener with a mark of 13.72m. The toss ranks fourth in program records.
