Maybrook Symphonic Wind Ensemble to perform Sept. 13
The Maybrook Symphonic Wind Ensemble will be performing as part of the Maybrook Days celebration, on Friday, September 13. Under the direction of Roy Coates, the ensemble will feature an energetic program of works including: the Coronation March composed by Tchaikovsky and Gilbert, and Sullivan’s Pineapple Poll arranged by Charles Mackerras. Compositions by Gustav Holst and John Phillip Sousa will be featured for this festive occasion as well.
The performance will be held at the Maybrook Senior Center, Schipps Lane in Maybrook, on Friday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m. As always, performances are free!

Art project at Pine Bush Library

Join Meadow, Artist/Instructor, to make “My Hopes” Boards, on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at the Library. This is a free program open to kids ages 7 and up.
You must sign up to reserve, as space and supplies are limited. No walk-ins, please.

Felting is back at the Wallkill Library
Create cool, fun and functional items from real 100 percent natural sheep wool. If you have never tried it, you won’t want to miss this easy, beginner felting class. All materials will be provided. This month’s theme is “Fall Coaster and Acorns.”

Create your own leaf design or copy the example to make a flat, functional coaster and learn to make colorful little felt “acorns” to glue into a acorn cap another cute addition to your Fall décor.
This is for ages 8 and up, and it will be held on Sept. 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the library.

Wallkill Library celebrates National Coloring Day
Sharpen your crayons and colored pencils and celebrate National Coloring Day. Celebrated throughout the nation on Saturday, Sept. 14, the Wallkill Public Library will be hosting a Coloring Art Exhibit to be unveiled during the Weekend of Wallkill, on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All ages are welcome to participate.

Submissions need to be mounted on a sturdy backing for display purposes. Drop off mounted artwork by Monday, Sept. 16. Artwork must be picked up by Monday, Sept. 30 after the show. Register soon!

WOW kicks off Sept. 20
The annual Weekend of Wallkill kicks off on Friday September 20. Drop off your stuffed animal for a stuffed animal pet show, join the team trivia contest, enjoy the Beauty of Wallkill Art Show. End the night with a family movie.
On Saturday September 21, the celebration of Wallkill continues with community favorites including Vendor Fair, Touch A Truck, Bounce House, contests, games, and food. There will also be interactive fun with actor David Engel at a Wizard Academy. 3 shows: 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm. Tickets for the academy are $5 per person or $15 per family of four. And if you want to, wear your best Harry Potter-type costumes to the academy.
All events take place on or near the library lawn and town hall.

Pine Bush Harvest Festival is Sept. 21
The Pine Bush Lions Club will be sponsoring a Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date, Sept. 22).
There will be entertainment for all ages: dancing, cheerleading, karate, live music, food and a chance to win a wheelbarrow of cheer. Also local vendors, children’s activities, Art & Craft and farmer’s market.

It will take place on Main Street (between Routes 302 and Center St.) in Pine Bush.

Mulberry House Players to perform at Pine Bush Library
The Mulberry House Players are coming to the Pine Bush Area Library Community Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m.
Enjoy laugh-a-minute comedy skits based on some of the funniest TV shows of the past few decades.

Try your hand at being a wizard!
On Saturday, September 21, you can participate in an improv show starring David Engel.

Maybrook VFW selling raffle tickets

The Maybrook VFW Post 2064 will be holding their annual 50/50 Raffle. The tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 Drawing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the New Years Party (need not be present to win).
