A public hearing originally scheduled for Feb. 22 on the Village of Maybrook’s annexation of the Galaxy Limited property along the former railroad line has been postponed to March 8. The two-week delay resulted from an error in the published legal notice for the hearing.

The Town of Montgomery Town Board and the Village of Maybrook Village Board will meet jointly, hosted by Maybrook, for the Mar. 8 public hearing on the annexation. Galaxy needs village water and sewer for development of its property that runs from the bottom of Main Street in the village to Henry Henning Drive in the town. The northern section of the property currently lies in the town.

The hearing is now set for 7 p.m., Mon., Mar. 8, on-line. Village Attorney Kelly Naughton said that annexation comments made by anyone who joins Maybrook’s Feb. 22 regular on-line meeting will be recorded and included with comments at the Mar. 8 public hearing.

Galaxy is currently seeking to develop two of the seven lots comprising the property for warehouse/industrial use.
