The family of Tyrell Ontario Fincher, the young man killed on March 27,2020 by unknown officers from the City of Newburgh Police Department, are extremely saddened by the loss of this vibrant, radiant and caring young man. Tyrell was a loving father to his son, a sparkling glow of light to his mother, a caring brother to his sisters and brother, and a cherished relative and friend to many.

The family is asking the community to remain calm as this would be wishes of Tyrell and are the desires of his mother. They are also asking the community to remain conscious of the ongoing health emergency they are facing and to continue listening to and obeying the guidance of informed medical professionals. Lastly, they are asking everyone to respect our privacy while they take the time to mourn Tyrell’s death and plan for his homecoming.

They will and are seeking further information on this tragic incident and remain hopeful that all truthful information will be made known to the family and the community as expeditiously as possible.
