Tillson/Toc Project to finish by end of May

Lloyd Supervisor Dave Plavchak said the Tillson/Toc/Vineyard intersection project is nearing its final phase of work. He noted that with the asphalt plants reopening after the winter season, the project will be starting back up.

Plavchak said after speaking with the project’s engineering consultant Barton & Loguidice and the Contractor ACS, “the road will need to be shut down for 4 to 6 weeks starting April 8. The work that’s remaining is to install the final drainage along Vineyard and raise it to the final grade and then raise Toc Drive to its final grade and then pave Vineyard, Toc and Tillson. That’s why the roads need to be closed...Unfortunately we have to put that detour back in place.”

Plavchak said once this is done the rest of the remaining work can be finished with the roads reopened and flaggers directing traffic.

“We’re prioritizing the work that needs the road closed and hopefully we can beat that 4 to 6 week time frame. The entire project is scheduled to be done by the end of May; that’s what’s in the contract.”
