Gage Szymanowicz posted three games over 200 and finished with a 675 series, leading the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks to a 5-0 win over the Kingston Tigers on Thursday in a non-league boys’ bowling match at Pat Tarsio Lanes in Newburgh.
Szymanowicz opened his day with his highest game of 237, continued with a 231, and finished his day with a 207.
Jordan Dewitt rolled a 232 high game and a 625 series. He also rolled a 213.
Andre Alexander rolled a 224 high game and finished with a 595 series. Carter Babbage posted a 258 high game for Newburgh’s highest of the day and finished with a 595 series. Stephen Barnes bowled a 205 in the third game and finished with a 565 series.
Vincent Martelli led the Tigers with a 235 high game and a 650 series. He also bowled a 205 and a 210. Patrick Keating had a 257 high game and a 629 series, and Aidan Rutski had a 205 high game and a 613 series.
The Goldbacks won the pin count, 3,055-2,969.
The girls’ team lost a 5-0 decision to Kingston, as Averyanna Thomas rolled a 235 high game on her way to a 594 series.
Tatum Connolly led the Goldbacks with a 179 high game and a 517 series. She also bowled a 167 and a 171. Katie Bell had a 179 high game and a 509 series. Gianna Alisandrella had a 158 high game and a 412 series.
The Tigers won the total pin count, 2,786-2,100.
