Highland Huskies win 5-0 in tennis
Liam VanValkenburgh, Teddy Druttman and Michael Duncan each picked up singles wins in a 5-0 Mid Hudson Athletic League boys’ tennis match over Pine Plains at Tony Williams Park in Highland.

VanValkenburgh defeated Andy Simons, 6-1, 6-2 and Druttman posted a 6-0, 6-1 over Jimmy King. Duncan beat Vinny Mercado, 6-2, 6-1.

Zach Heaser and Logan Carle blanked Estrella Ruano and Sienna Millar, 6-0, 6-0, at first doubles and Andrew Lamark and Ziyad Atesal shut out Olivia Osofsky and Connor Thompsett, 6-0, 6-0.

The Huskies opened the week on April 23 with a 3-2 loss to Saugerties.

Haeser and Carle, and Lamark and Atesal picked up doubles victories.

Highland girls edge Spackenkill
Alexa Pavese struck out 17 batters and had two hits and two RBIs, leading the Highland Huskies to a 9-7 win over the Spackenkill Spartans on April 23 in a Mid Hudson Athletic League Division III softball game.

Sierra Spinelli hit a two-run home run and drove in three runs, while Delainey Reid had two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Ciara Teamer had two hits and two runs scored. Taylor Anzalone had a hit and an RBI.

The Huskies finished the week on Thursday with a 7-1 road loss to the Pine Plains Bombers.
