Safe Harbors of the Hudson is pleased to announce Newburgh’s first annual Literary Festival. A weekend of literature, leaf peeping and localism in historic Newburgh. The Festival, which will take place the weekend of October 18, is a collaborative project of Safe Harbors of the Hudson; Dr. Hannah Brooks; author Danielle Trussoni; the Newburgh Free Library; Atlas Studios; and Thornwillow Institute. The Newburgh Literary Festival is a three-day exploration and celebration of the written word in a city with rich history, celebrated architecture and breathtaking natural beauty nestled on the shores of the Hudson River in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Festival goers will be enriched with literature, immersed in history, nourished at celebrated restaurants and charmed by the city’s local flair. Local merchants and restaurants will be offering discounts throughout the weekend for Festival attendees, who will enjoy the unique offerings of local artisans and epicureans. The live writing workshop How to Tell the Story of Your Life is led by novelist and memoirist, Danielle Trussoni.
