Marlboro Class of 2019 takes a stroll down memory lane

On June 13, Marlboro High School (MHS) Class of 2019 took a stroll down memory lane at Marlboro Elementary School (MES). Students, staff, and administrators at MES welcomed approximately 145 graduates with cheers, personalized signs, and high fives for the annual Cap & Gown Senior Walk.

Many seniors were overcome with nostalgia as they walked through their old school. It gave the graduates a chance to say goodbye to former teachers and thank them for inspiring them.

In addition, the parade gave the elementary school children a time to reflect upon what graduation is and gave them a goal to strive toward at an early age. Teachers encouraged younger students to hoot, holler, clap, and cheer as the procession passed their classrooms.

MHS Principal Ryan Lawler led the class through the halls. “This is the second year we have done this walk and it’s a great way for the students to remember where it all began,” stated Lawler.

Teachers also enjoyed the Senior Walk, saying it was nice to see how their former students have grown. Many teachers reached out to give supportive hugs whenever they could.
