Joseph Canosa of the Town of Newburgh a retired insurance agent for Prudential and an area resident for 55 years, passed away on March 27, 2024 at his home. Joe was 97.

 Joe is the son of the late Julius and Mary Canosa, he was born on February 17, 1927 in New York City, NY.

 He was an army veteran, serving in WWII, and was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Joe will be dearly missed, he will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his soul mate Olga, family and friends. His warm smile touched everyone he came in contact with and to know him was to love him. Until we meet again, “shake it easy” Pops!

 Joe is survived by his wife Olga Canosa, his children: Denise (Rick) Baginski, Victoria (Bill) Pomarico, and Hamlet (Kathy) Canosa. Grandchildren: Ashley Scollan, Alyse Stellitano, Billy Pomarico, Jenna Brogden, Hans, Heidi, Rebecca, Bethany, and great grandchildren: Buck Scollan, Elle Stellitano, Oliver Brogden, Violet Brogden, and Victoria (Tori) Pomarico, and his brothers: Frank Canosa and Robert Canosa. 18 nieces and 11 nephews.

 Graveside services were held on Friday March 29, 2024 at Orange County Veterans Cemetery Goshen, with military honors, with Pastor Vargas, Pastor White, and Pastor Jamel officiating.

 Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to Newburgh Seventh Day Adventist Church or to United Hospice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hudson Valley Funeral Home.
