The Highland boys’ bowling team split a pair of matches last week.

The Huskies defeated Beacon, 3-2, on the road on February 7, and lost 5-0 to Saugerties on Thursday.

The Huskies defeated Beacon with a pin count of 2,327-2,309, but lost the pin count to Saugerties, 2.706-2,446.

Highland’s Gavin Landry was the top bowler on Thursday with a 670 series. He rolled high games of 247 and 245. Jason DeWitt rolled a 193 high game and a 519 series. Avo Turrendino led the Sawyers with a 584 high series with a 220 high game.

The girls’ team continued to struggle with only three bowlers on the roster. They lost to Beacon, 1,639-922 and lost to Saugerties, 2,551-1,287.

Olivia Casabura led the Highland girls’ team with high games of 216 and 204 with a 578 high series. Libby Harris rolled a 157 high game and a 435 series.

Kieran Hinchey led Saugerties with a 549 series and a 214 high game. Harper Ferraro had a 203 high game and a 544 series.
The Section 9 season was scheduled to end on Monday with the Section 9 championships at Patel’s Kingston Lanes.
