The City of Newburgh is pleased to announce the formation of the Mayor’s Strategic Economic Development Advisory Committee. Following an overwhelming response of interest from qualified community members, the City has selected a diverse group of ten residents and business owners who will be responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and advising the City Council on proposals for future City- owned land development sales consistent with the City’s current Master Plans and Zoning Code.

The Committee will be expected to develop and/or review requests for proposals and may advocate for studies and plans to support future development, such as market or housing studies, all of which shall advance the objectives stated in the City’s Master Plan.

In addition, the City of Newburgh also wishes to announce an extension of time - until Monday, September 9, 2019 - for the submission of proposals for RFP (Request For Proposal) 19.19: The Purchase and Development of City-Owned Parcels at 140 & 146 Montgomery Street, and 137 Smith Street and RFP 19.20: The Purchase and Development of a City-Owned Parcel at 15 South Colden Street.

Originally, the two RFP’s had a submission date of Friday, August 2. Due to considerable interest and several formal requests for additional time, the City of Newburgh has extended the submission deadline as listed above.

Information on the RFPs can be found on BidNet (bidnetdirect.com/new-york/city-of- newburgh) or on the Department of Planning and Development’s page of the City of Newburgh’s website ( cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/planning-development/pages/rfqs-property-rfps).

Questions can be directed to Alexandra Church, Interim Director of Planning and Development, 569-7388.
