Town of Lloyd voters open your eyes

Posted

As many of you know, last month Joe Mazzetti falsely accused me of being unethical and fleecing the town. After the truth came out, it was found that my mistake was purely a technical process error, simply that and nothing more. The town wasn’t fleeced, my wife’s firm was not unethical, I simply made a technical mistake, my wife or I did not benefit in any way. After three weeks of explaining myself, Joe Mazzetti approached me at a town board meeting and said, “is this over” I accepted his handshake and said, “Yes this is over”. As far as I was concerned, this was a very bad experience that I wanted to put behind me and was planning to do just that. One week later I attended the ribbon cutting of the Highland Landing Educational building attended by our state senator and assemblyman. Of course, there were many photo opportunities; as we posed for a group photo, Joe stands next to me, puts his arm around my shoulder and says “John, let me stand next to you so people will see we’re good.” I could not believe that he would be so arrogant to think we’re good! Internally I was convulsed; if it weren’t for the people in attendance, I would have been quite vocal, but I wasn’t. Being on the town board for the last 2 years, I have witnessed the arrogant, insincere, phony antics of Joe Mazzetti. I guess he thinks people are naive enough to buy the stories and claims that he makes.

I truly was willing to put my incident behind me, but since Joe has decided to continue to spread his untruths via letters to the editor and Facebook, I cannot stand by and let the lies continue. In his most recent post, he claims to have improved the morale at the town hall. Several town employees had to laugh and said to me Joe is the main contributor to low morale in this building. Joe has taken credit for many recent accomplishments in the town. Joe has held office for almost 8 years; many of the problems that he claims he resolved have been problems that he created or never resolved for most of his tenure. Now that the current town board has been addressing many of those problems, Joes takes the credit!! In a recent letter to the editor, Mazzetti claimed that Lenny Auchmoody bullied him at a town board meeting. Anyone that knows Lenny Auchmoody knows he is not a bully. I was at that meeting and observed Lenny banging on the table and saying stop, let’s be professional and stop this bickering. Joe Mazzetti and his antics have led several previous town supervisors and board members to the point of bickering and outbursts in the town meetings, when will he realize he is the root of most of the issues. As I stated in a previous letter to the editor, the only explanation I have for Joe’s bad behavior and false accusations are that he has such a lack luster short list of accomplishments, he must point fingers at others and take credit for solving problems, many of which he created. This is not a request urging you to vote for any candidate. It is a request for voters to read between the lines, open your eyes and don’t make the mistake of returning Joe Mazzetti to office for another four years of false claims and disruptive behavior.
