Shirley M. Gilmore, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. She was 95.
Daughter of the late Frederick C. and Alice (Milliken) Thompson, she was born on August 4, 1927 in Newburgh.
A lifelong Newburgh resident, Shirley was a homemaker. She was devoted to her family and loved to cook. She was fond of all her pets, especially Neko who now lives with her son.
Survivors include a son, Richard D. Gilmore and his wife, Ann of Newburgh; five grandchildren, Melanie, Kristian, Beth, Jessica and Stephanie; three great grandchildren, Mason, Kali and Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Francis “Frank” Gilmore in 1998, a son, Gary F. Gilmore; five brothers, Roland, Arthur, Charles, George, and Frederick Thompson, and three sisters, Mabel Ward, Anna Bell and Harriett Thompson.
A Chapel Service was held Friday, July 7, at White Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road, Newburgh. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
