Murray A, Perlman of New Paltz, New York died in his home at the age of 92. He was attended by his daughter Carolyn Van Brookhoven. Also, present were Judith Perlman, his wife of more than 67 years and his son-in-law, Henry Van Brookhoven.

Murray was born on May 8, 1928 in the Bronx, New York. The son of Jack and Rose (Feldman) Perlman.
In World War II, Murray enlisted and served in the Army Air Corps. After the war, Murray worked as a Motorman for the NYC transit authority until his retirement in 1975. On January 26, 1953 he married Judith Chaiet, with whom he spent the rest of his life.

Murray was well known by family, friends, relatives and neighbors for his sense of humor and ability to relate to those around him. Murray loved to discuss politics and social issues, particularly from his liberal viewpoint and history as a proud union member. Murray had a lifelong love of reading and classical music, which helped sustain him in his later years and his more recent health problems.

He is survived by his wife Judith; his daughter Carolyn Van Brookhoven and her husband Henry of Highland, NY, his daughter Elissa Fuchs and her husband Jeffrey of Durham, NC; as well as, his granddaughters Anna Van Brookhoven and her husband Steve Mena of Port Orchard, WA and Michal Ballard of Durham, NC.

Burial will take place at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road Elmont, New York 11003 on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations in his honor be made to Hudson Valley Hospice.
