Marlboro is a ‘best community’ for music education

The Marlboro Central School District Music Department is proud to announce that it has once again been awarded a “Best Communities for Music Education” designation from the NAAM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education! This is the fourth time that Marlboro has received this prestigious recognition, which is given to schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment to providing music access and education to all students. We are proud of the outstanding efforts of our teachers, administrators, parents, and students, who have made sure that music is part of a well-rounded education. Bravo!

It is National Assistant Principals Week! We are so grateful to Marlboro High School Assistant Principal Anishbell Brennan, Marlboro Middle School Assistant Principal Demian Stanmyer, and Marlboro Elementary School Assistant Principal Sarah Amodeo for all that they do to support our school communities!

The Friends of the Marlboro Library will be holding their sixth annual tea party fundraiser at Stoutridge Distillery & Winery, on Saturday, May 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the charms of a bygone era and join us for tea, light refreshments, music, raffles, and conversation. A ticket to this event makes a wonderful Mother’s Day gift! Proceeds will go towards future Library programs. Tickets for the tea are $25 each and are available for purchase at the circulation desk. Fancy hats are encouraged!

All are welcome to attend the Marlboro Library’s Book Club! On Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m., we will be discussing Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Book Club will meet in-person at the library. Copies are available for pick-up at the circulation desk. Registration is required only for those who wish to attend virtually or would like to be contacted in the event of inclement weather. Register online at marlborolibary.org. In the event of inclement weather, Book Club will meet virtually.

Join us on Wednesday, May 8 for the Marlboro Library’s Local History Trivia Night hosted by Brix Gastropub! Organized by the Marlboro Library, this is an entertaining night for the community! Test your knowledge of our town with a range of super easy to impossible questions and a few in-between. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the event. The winning team will receive a gift card to Brix which can be used any time.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive when doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m. to get settled and place orders. Trivia will begin at 6 p.m. To be notified of updates or cancellations, RSVP for this event at marlborolibrary.org. An RSVP with the Library does not constitute a reservation at Brix. Table reservations can be made by calling Brix at 845-236-9981. Tables are first come, first serve. Brix Gastropub is located at 1 King Street, in Marlboro.
