Jeffrey P. Hoppenstedt, 60, of Plattekill, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, at his home.
Born May 15, 1959 in Newburgh, he was the son of the late John Hoppenstedt and Valerie (Ruhmshottel) Hoppenstedt.
Jeffrey worked as a Shipping Supervisor for Charles Richter Metal Craft in Wallkill, that specializes in Metal Fabrication.
He was a past Fire Chief and life member of the Plattekill Fire Department. As a teenager he was a Boy Scout. He enjoyed barbeques, throwing horseshoes with his sons and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Jeff Hoppenstedt Jr. and his wife, Nicole of Wallkill, NY and John Hoppenstedt of Wallkill, NY; his mother Valerie (Ruhmshottel) Hoppenstedt of Wallkill; his sister, Sandra Doescher her husband, Michael of New London, CT; and his brother, James Hoppenstedt and his fiancé, Fran of Wallkill, NY; his two grandchildren, Taylor Hoppenstedt of Wallkill, NY, and Jeffrey Hoppenstedt III of Wallkill, NY; his ex-wife, Susan Romano of Wallkill, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 S. Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY. Procession to Modena Cemetery will begin at 12:30 p.m. from the funeral home.
