On Thursday, October 31, the Orange County Probation Department, along with the Sheriff’s Office, teamed up to enforce the supervision of Probationers through home visits. One visit led to the arrest of three people. 52-year-old Lorenzo Lopez, of the Town of Newburgh, was found in possession of crack cocaine and several pill bottles containing Oxycodone, Tramadol, and Dexmethylphenidate, commonly known as Adderall. All of the pills are controlled substances. Lopez was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class “D” Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class “A” Misdemeanor, and Violation of Probation.

In addition to Lopez, Deputies arrested a 45-year-old female, Nancy Corrigan, of Wappinger Falls, and a 26-year-old man, Devin Zarnoff, of the Town of Newburgh. Corrigan was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7Th Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor. Zarnoff was charged with False Personation, a class “B” Misdemeanor.

All three defendants were arraigned before Justice Clarino in the Town of Newburgh court. Bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 secured bond for Lorenzo Lopez. Nancy Corrigan was arraigned and released on her own recognizance. Devin Zarnoff was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, then turned over to the New York State Police on an outstanding Bench Warrant.

“The current epidemic of overdose deaths related to opioid use calls out for operations such as these and our collaborative efforts with Probation,” Orange County Sheriff Carl E. DuBois stated, “Joint operations provide a resourceful approach to positively impact the safety of our communities.”
