Skoufis and Jacobson to share office space in City of Newburgh

Senator James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) and Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-Newburgh) will host an official opening of their joint district office in the City of Newburgh.

The office opening will take place on Tuesday, August 27, from 5 to-7 p.m., at 47 Grand Street, with the official ribbon-cutting taking place at 6 p.m.

“After a long history of being neglected by State government, the City of Newburgh is finally beginning to get its fair share of representation and action,” said Senator Skoufis. “Opening an office in this city is incredibly important to me, along with this location being central in my district, I want to be as accessible as possible to my constituents in Orange and Ulster counties. I’m honored to share this space with Assemblymember Jacobson who I have worked tirelessly with this year to deliver real results in the areas we both proudly represent.”

The building, the former home of the Newburgh Savings and Loan Association, more recently housed what was then known as the Eastern Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

“I am excited to have my office in the City of Newburgh,” Jacobson said. “The Newburgh district office is a commitment to the revitalization of the City of Newburgh as well as providing a convenient location to meet with constituents. By having my office across the hall from Senator James Skoufis, constituents can have ‘one-stop shopping’ to meet with both their State representatives”
