Jessica Lopez – also known as Yessica - has been missing since November 1. Various law enforcement agencies have been handling the investigation of her disappearance.

On Tuesday, the New Windsor Police Department announced that it was now the lead agency in this case, since investigation into her whereabouts has now shown that the last place she was seen was the Windsor Motel on Rt 9W in the Town of New Windsor in the early morning hours of November 3.

Assisting the New Windsor Police in this investigation is: The New York State Police, Town & City of Newburgh Police Departments, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center, New York State DEC Police and Forest Rangers, DEA, Orange & Putnam County Sheriff’s Offices, Westchester County Police Dept., and the Ramapo Search & Rescue.

For her brother Ernesto, Yessica’s disappearance is out of the ordinary. Ernesto remembers Yessica as “very goody two shoes, fun, outgoing, calm, and collected.”

“She’s always been my big sister,” said Ernesto. “So, she’s always looked out for me.” According to Ernesto, Yessica recently left her job at a local health clinic to take care of their ailing father.

“We just want her home,” said Ernesto.

Yessica was seen being dropped off by a friend, after a night out at Chili’s in the Town of Newburgh. Yessica was dropped off near her silver Toyota Camry outside of her home on Dubois Street. Recently her Camry was recovered in the parking lot of Showtime Cinemas in the Town of Newburgh.

Police are now asking for the community’s help in determining where her vehicle traveled on Sunday, November 3, before it was parked at Showtime Cinema. Anyone having seen the vehicle between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on November 3, is asked to contact New Windsor police at (845) 565-7000. They are also urging local businesses and homeowners to review their security camera footage during this timeframe to see if her vehicle happens to be captured on video.

Since her disappearance, law enforcement agencies have been combing all over Orange County, in hopes of finding her. On Saturday, State Police Divers were seen searching the lake behind Lake Street. On Sunday, they were searching the shoreline along the Hudson River and up and down the river.

Yessica is 36-years-old. She is described as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall weighing 135 pounds, with light brown eyes and brown hair with highlights.

Ernesto asks for “prayers and support.”

“Our family has been having a tough tough year,” said Ernesto. “We lost my brother last December; we lost my grandmother in July. That’s two deaths already. We just need her to come home.”
