Phillip S. Iannolo

Phillip S. Iannolo, of Newburgh, passed away at home on March 2, 2020. Born and raised in Cornwall, NY, he was 56 years old.

Known as Jappess, Philthy Phil, Ironman, and Philly, he was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Phil served his country guarding nuclear warheads on the U.S.S. America, where he had higher security clearance than President Ronald Reagan. He was recognized by Leatherneck Magazine for his marksmanship as a Pistol and Rifle Expert.

Phil spent the past few years as caretaker to his mother, Mary Iannolo, who passed away just a few months before him, in Nov. 2019.

He leaves behind siblings Mary Ann Guarino and husband Charles, Sam Iannolo and wife Joanne, Mark Iannolo and wife Diane, and Jennifer Iannolo; nieces and nephews Michelle Guarino and fiancé Daniel Pagnotta, Marie Rodriguez and husband Richard, Kimberly Tarallo and husband Matthew, Nicholas Iannolo, Haley Arbitelle, Jacob Arbitelle, Zachary Suarez, Alexander Suarez, Samantha Iannolo, Richard Rodriguez, Lydia Tarallo, Gianna Tarallo, Jullien Rodriguez, and Olivia Iannolo. He was predeceased by his parents, Serafino and Mary Iannolo, and his brother, Robert “Meatball” Iannolo.

A memorial celebration for Phil and honor guard presentation will be announced at a later date.
