Join Mount Saint Mary College for its Tenth Annual Gala Reception on Friday, December 6, celebrating two pillars of the local community.

Derrik R. Wynkoop, President and CEO of Walden Savings Bank, and David Potack, President of Unitex Textile Rental Services, Inc., will be honored with the Joseph A. Bonura Award for Leadership Excellence.

The gala will take place at 6 p.m. in the Kaplan Family Mathematics, Science and Technology Center on campus, 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh. Tickets are $175 each. To purchase tickets, contact Kathleen Barton, Director of Advancement Events, at kathleen.barton@msmc.edu or at 845-569-3609.

Funds raised will enable the college to provide an affordable, values-based education to thousands of deserving students, many of whom are among the first in their families to attend college.

The Joseph A. Bonura Award for Leadership Excellence recognizes individuals or organizations whose professional accomplishments and approach to management reflect the same commitment to quality, concern for neighbors, and shared prosperity that have exemplified the career and character of local restaurateur Joseph A. Bonura.

Derrik R. Wynkoop became the 14th President and Chief Executive Officer of Walden Savings Bank in 2011. A year later, he was elected to the bank’s Board of Directors. Prior to joining Walden Savings Bank, Wynkoop was Vice President of Retail Delivery & Marketing at Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU), where he was responsible for 21 branch locations, HVFCU Financial Services, and more.

Wynkoop served as an adjunct professor at Mount Saint Mary College from 1992 to 1999 and is a frequent guest speaker at the college. This selective program exposes undergraduate business students to Hudson Valley not-for-profit and arts-related charitable orginizations. Wynkoop was also an adjunct professor at Marist College and currently serves as Chairman of Marist’s Hudson Valley Scholars Program.

In the community, Wynkoop is a past Chairman for the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan County and has served on the board since 2001.
