On August 27, Assemblymember Jonathan G. Jacobson (D-104) officially cut the ribbon at the new District Office he will be sharing with Senator James Skoufis (D-39) in the City of Newburgh at 47 Grand Street.

Jacobson said, “Sharing an office with Senator Skoufis makes it “one-stop shopping” for our shared constituents and relocating to the heart of the city makes it easier for everyone to reach us and our staffs. As a lifelong resident of Newburgh, I am deeply committed to the City’s success. Having a presence in the heart of Newburgh demonstrates a commitment from the State, so I am proud to announce that my office is open to help address the concerns of local residents.”

“After a long history of being neglected by State government, the City of Newburgh is finally beginning to get its fair share of representation and action,” said Skoufis. “Opening an office in this city is incredibly important to me, along with this location being central in my district, I want to be as accessible as possible to my constituents in Orange and Ulster counties. I’m honored to share this space with Assemblymember Jacobson who I have worked tirelessly with this year to deliver real results in the areas we both proudly represent.”

Jacobson was joined by residents, union leaders, and local elected officials, including Newburgh Mayor Torrance Harvey and City Councilpersons Anthony Grice, Hillary Rayford, and Bob Sklarz.

Near the corner of Grand Street and Broadway, the 47 Grand Street office is in Newburgh’s business district and just steps away from the office of Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, Newburgh City Hall, and the Newburgh campus of SUNY Orange as well as numerous area non-profit organizations.

The 104th Assembly district comprises the cities of Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, and Beacon, and the towns of Lloyd, Newburgh, and Marlborough. Jacobson’s other office is in Poughkeepsie.
