Comedy show to benefit SPCA

Hello New Windsor. I mentioned in February how my family adopted a dog from the Hudson Valley SPCA that they had rescued from being euthanized from a shelter in Kentucky.
The HVSPCA is a terrific organization that is a No Kill sanctuary that is dedicated to rescuing, sheltering and defending animals while actively seeking loving, forever homes for them. But operating an organization like theirs is very expensive and they rely on the support of the community.
During the Town of New Windsor Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series this past summer Mitchell Weiner from Valpak Mid Hudson Valley set up a raffle at every concert to benefit the Hudson Valley SPCA. He got local businesses to donate gift cards that were raffled off with the drawing at the end of each concert. $127 was raised.
After learning that the Hudson Valley SPCA needed a new Microchip Reader that is used to identify lost pets, Mitchell teamed up with the owners of the new Pet Supplies Plus of New Windsor Bret and Veronica Wilson who paid the difference to purchase the reader which was over $400.
The Micro Chip Reader will be presented to the Hudson Valley SPCA at a Comedy Fundraiser at Orange County Choppers on Saturday October 26. Local comedians including Larry DeGregorio, a retired New Windsor Police Officer, will be performing at this benefit with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m.

For tickets, to donate, or to sponsor this event you can visit funny4funds.com/events and for more information contact Stacy DeGelormo at 914-474-3561.Great job by Mitchell Weiner for setting up the raffle, to all of the businesses who donated gift cards in support of this raffle, to Bret and Veronica Wilson of Pet Supplies Plus for paying the difference of the reader, and to the attendees of the Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series who purchased raffle tickets to support the HVSPCA!
