Carl Anderson Erskine, formerly of Newburgh, , passed away at Montefiore Medical Center on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at the age of 57.

Carl was the beloved husband of Diane Russell Erskine, and the father of eight children: Carly, Sheniece, Carielle, Sheniequa, Sheniekaah, Anderson, Mehki and Cailyn. Carl is survived by his mother, Shirley Erskine, and his siblings: Rosemary Erskine of Ontario, Canada, Augustine Erskine and his wife Beverly of Crabbe Hill Village, Antigua, Maralyn Yvette Erskine of Newport Ritchie, Florida, Sharon Erskine of New Port Richey, Florida, Sandra Francis of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Keith Erskine and his wife Paula of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Trevor Erskine of Crabbe Hill Village, Antigua, and Harriet Erskine Joseph and her husband Ian of Bronx, New York.

Carl was born in Crabbe Hill Village, Antigua on April 4, 1963 the son of Shirley and the late John Erskine.

Growing up, Carl loved the water—quickly becoming an avid swimmer and fisherman in his youth. Similarly, Carl took liking to carpentry, and soon followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a carpenter.
As a teenager, Carl attended and graduated from Jennings Secondary School. It was also during these years that he met the love of his life Diane Russell Erskine before deciding to come to the United States.
Upon coming to the United States, Carl and Diane briefly lived in Minnesota before moving to New York City where they started their family. After growing their family for several years, Carl and Diane left the city and finally settled their family in Newburgh, New York.

In his spare time, not only was Carl a loving husband, brother, and father, but he was also a “Mr. Fix-it” often applying his carpentry skills by fixing, building, and updating any and everything around the house or yard.
A private viewing will be held at Brooks Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In light of current events, it has been decided that at a later date, a memorial service will be held for family and friends.
